The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards β€” With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs β€” but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 β€” particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
